Three Historic Sites – One Extraordinary Bristol Legacy
Sunday 19th July 2026 | 11am–4pm
Come and uncover the hidden world of one of Bristol’s greatest innovators and discover the extraordinary legacy that still survives nearly 300 years later.
Step back into the remarkable world of William Champion, the Bristol industrialist whose revolutionary zinc-smelting process helped create one of the largest industrial sites in 18th-century Europe.
For one day only, discover the story of the man who transformed Warmley and left a legacy that can still be explored today across three unique historic sites.
Your ticket gives access to:
🏛 Kingswood Heritage Museum
Explore exhibitions telling the story of Champion’s brassworks, local industry and the communities that grew around them. Look into the original 18th century windmill – the tallest and oldest in the country.
🌿 William Champion’s Historic Gardens & Grottoes
Wander through the remains of Champion’s pleasure gardens and venture into the mysterious 18th-century grottoes, inspired by the fashionable gardens of the Grand Tour. Visit the statue of Neptune which stood as a centrepiece on Echo Lake.
