Kingswood's hidden gem

We recently featured on BBC Radio Bristol’s Jon Darvall show as part of the stations focus on Kingswood, as a follow on to this, the BBC spoke with one of our volunteers about the Museum, the Kingswood Elephant and the Warmley Giant, if this article whets your appetite, why not come along and explore the rich local heritage at the Museum.

Douglas Cavalcade

Once again we are proud to be hosting the London Douglas Club’s Douglas Cavalcade on Sunday, 25th May.

This is Bristol’s only dedicated Douglas brand Classic motorcycle run.

Come and see the machines from Kingswood’s once proud manufacturing industry.

The bikes gather outside the Museum from 10:00 and then depart on a road run at 12:00 covering some of the old route used to test the bikes in their heyday.

But why not visit the Museum as well (admission fees apply), and see our collection of these world famous bikes, and other artifacts from Douglas’s proud manufacturing past, as well as all our our displays about the Social and Economic heritage of Kingswood and the surrounding areas.

2024 Local History Talks season

We have put together another fantastic series of Local History talks for our 2024 season.

Admission £4.00 , light refreshments available

Doors open 7pm Talks commence 7:30pm

Knitting & Natter Group

The popular “Knitting & Natter” group is changing days.

From 22nd October 2025, the group will meet again on a WEDNESDAY afterrnoon from 13:30 until 15:30

Bring your knitting, Crochet, or Embroidery for an enjoyable and sociable afternoon.

Entry fee is £3 per session, with all proceeds going to the museum.

Kingswood Museum

Housed within the main building, this Museum for Kingswood holds a variety of enjoyable displays of local industries and social history of the area for all the family.

Kingswood Heritage Museum can accommodate standard (non-motorised) wheelchairs and our staff are always on hand to assist. Our toilets are wheelchair accessible. It is advisable to telephone prior to your visit for further information or if you have a specific query.
