The next of Kingswood Heritage Museum’s series of talks for the 2016 season will be given by Pat Hase, Chair of the Weston-super-Mare Family History Society. Pat will introduce her audience to methods of hunting for their ancestors, as well as tell some anecdotes arising from her own researches
Pat reveals that she has a local connection. Her family, the Longs, lived in Bitton in the early nineteenth century, and married into the Short family. And there may have been a connection with the Museum, too – Samuel Long was a supplier of sand for brass foundries, like the one at Champion’s works, as the illustration shows. Pat hopes soon to have the time to find out more about these links.
The talk will be held at the Museum on Monday September 19, commencing at 7.30pm. The admission fee is £3, which includes light refreshments. For more information contact the Museum at Tower Lane, Warmley, Bristol BS30 8XT, telephone 0117 960 5664, or by email at kingswoodmuseum@gmail.com.
