🏙️ What has Bristol lost since the Second World War?

From grand hotels and historic houses to iconic office buildings, Bristol’s skyline has changed dramatically over the past 80 years. Some changes have been celebrated… others are still debated today.

Join popular local historian Chris Bigg for Lost Bristol, a fascinating illustrated talk exploring the buildings that have disappeared from the heart of our city and those that replaced them.

Using a wealth of historic photographs, Chris will compare the old with the new, revealing how Bristol’s architecture has evolved over the decades—and asking whether change has always been for the better.

The talk includes the stories of:
🏛️ St Peter’s Hospital
🏠 The Dutch House
🏡 Fairfax House
⛽ The Gas Showrooms
🏢 Bristol & West
🏨 Grosvenor Hotel
🏢 Norwich Union
🏙️ Avon House

Whether you remember these buildings or are discovering them for the first time, this promises to be an engaging evening of local history, remarkable photographs and lively discussion.
