Douglas Brothers
Started by a enterprising Scot the firm of Douglas Bros started life in Kingswood just off Regent Street behind what is now B-Wise in the late 19thc as iron founders. In 1907 the first Douglas motorcycle was produced being the first in an illustrious line which ended in 1956 with the production of the Dragonfly. Vespa's were produced under liscence from PiagA for a few more years. Memories still live on of Dougies winning various IOM TT races and the Douglas Motorcycle Club met monthly at Kingswood Heritage Museum, William Douglas III is a trustee of the museum.
