Frequently asked questions

Our volunteers will attempt to respond to research enquiries but as an entirely volunteer-staffed museum, we do not have extensive facilities or time for this. However, we can recommend Gloucestershire Archives (Tel: 01452 425295, email: [email protected]), The Bristol Record Office (Tel: 0117 922 4224, email: [email protected]). In addition, if you live in the area, you are very welcome to come along with your query to the museum.

We welcome new artefacts, documents and photos relating to our area, but are very restricted in the number of new objects we can accept into our collection due to lack of space. Please contact us before bringing anything large to the museum.  If we are unable to accept an item we can often advise on alternatives.

Yes, please! And if you pay UK income tax, you can complete a Gift Aid form to allow us to reclaim it, at no cost to you. This means that, for every pound you donate, the museum can reclaim 25 pence, so the total value of the donation is £1.25.

Yes you can. Visit our ‘Adult and youth groups‘ page for more information; give us a call or send an email to arrange a visit from April 1st onwards. You are welcome to come and visit us before bringing your group.
